THE REFINISHING PROCESS

After you have removed the hardware from your cabinet doors and drawers, Gentle Hands Restoration will come into your home and pick them up the cabinet doors and drawers.

They are carefully hand stripped, stripping is the most important part and then the stripper is neutralized with varsol.  At this point, the doors and drawers will be stained first with an NGR stain for a base colour and then we would use a penetrating stain for deeper richer colours such as espresso or cherry.  Usually, we apply 4 coats of varnish, sanding between each coat (one side at a time).

When we are finished the job, we bring them back to your home and you install the hinges and the hardware (knobs & handles).
