Furniture Painting
Gentle Hands Restoration does furniture painting for the Durham Region which includes Newcastle, Bowmanville, Courtice, Oshawa, Whitby, Brooklin, Ajax, Pickering, Uxbridge and Port Perry. We also do furniture painting for Port Hope, Cobourg, Lindsay, Scarborough and surrounding areas.
Painted furniture adds warmth and charm to any room. There are so many colours and types of paint to choose from. We like to paint furniture with melamine paint (low lustre) as it is an extremely durable finish that stands up to a lot. Typically we use Benjamin Moore paint. Melamine paint is a low-lustre paint, if you were looking for a higher gloss, we would use a regular oil-based paint.
We paint any kind of furniture as well as kitchen cabinet doors, entrance doors and windows. I have never minded painting antiques.....in fact in my opinion as long as there is an existing coat of varnish on the piece of furniture, the paint helps to protect the furniture and in the years to come, the paint can be stripped off. We feel this way about any good piece of wood.
